About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of BookFactory.in and our book creation services. By placing an order or using this website, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, ask us before ordering; we are happy to explain.

Our services

BookFactory.in provides book creation services, including writing support, interviewing, editing, translation, proofreading, design, printing, and delivery, across three service tracks (Do It Yourself, Handholding, and All By Us). The exact scope, deliverables, revision rounds, and timelines for your project are confirmed in writing (including on WhatsApp) before work begins.

Your responsibilities

• You confirm that the material you provide (text, photographs, recordings) is yours to use, or that you have permission from its owners and from the people featured in it.
• For books about another person (memoirs, surprise gifts), you confirm you have, or will help us obtain, that person's or their family's consent to participate.
• You agree to review proofs and give approvals within reasonable time so the project stays on schedule.
• Content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes another person's rights cannot be accepted.

Ownership and licence

You own the copyright in your content and your finished book. You grant us a limited licence to use your material solely to create, print, and deliver your book, and for reprints you order. We will not use your book in our portfolio or marketing without your written consent.

Approvals, revisions, and print

Every project includes defined revision rounds by track. Printing begins only after you approve the final digital proof. Once you approve a proof, the content is considered final; errors you approved that are discovered after printing are not printing defects, though we will always help you fix them for a reprint at a fair cost.

Payments

Projects are confirmed with an advance, with the balance payable as agreed before printing or delivery. Prices quoted to you are valid for the period stated in the quote. Payment methods include UPI, cards, and bank transfer; EMI options may be available on premium packages through payment providers.

Timelines

Indicative turnarounds are: DIY keepsakes in days, guided books in two to four weeks, and full done-by-us books in four to eight weeks. Timelines depend on interviews, material, and your approvals; agreed dates for events (weddings, birthdays, memorials) are honoured with priority planning.

Quality promise

Every book passes a pre-print technical check before printing. Editorial review, proofreading, and senior-editor certification are included in the packages that specify them, and are available as add-ons on other packages. If a printed copy has a manufacturing defect (binding, printing, damage in transit), we will reprint or replace it under our Refunds and Reprint policy.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project. We are not liable for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

Privacy

Your personal data and story material are handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction over any dispute, after we have first tried in good faith to resolve it with you directly.
